Google have announced an issue with the Chrome 6 browser which may have inflated site visit numbers from Chrome users during the period September 7th to 22nd.
The issue was caused by Chrome version 6.0.472.55 incorrectly executing Google Analytics JavaScript leading to artificially high visit numbers for each visit.The issue with the browser was corrected by Google on September 22nd.
To determine if you may have been affected, Google advise users to compare Chrome visit data between September 7th-22nd with a previous date range.
